Profitable Farming

Besides fishing, Farming is the second most lucrative business in Cotes de Fer. Farmers eke out a living by growing mountain crops like coffee, mango, papaya, grenadine, sapodilla, corossole and cachiment. Other agricultural products like peas, corn, yam, potato, cassava and yam are also produced.

The notion that Haitian farmers are unable to feed Haiti is simply not true! Many Haitian farmers are ready and poised to access the production ladder. This is particularly true of coffee producers.

Build And Bridge has partnered with The singing rooster in order to bring small coffee growers in Haiti direct access to the US market. A whopping 33% of the profit made from the sale of this coffee goes directly into the hands of small farmers in Haiti.
